Das Iranian Film Festival Vienna kündigt seine Unterstützung für die Bewegung „Frau, Leben, Freiheit“ im Iran an. Als Zeichen der Solidarität mit der revolutionären Bewegung der iranischen Frauen und dem pro-demokratischen Aufstand des iranischen Volkes gegen das religiöse Diktatursystem zieht sich das Organisationsteam des Festivals von der Durchführung dieses Festivals zurück. In Anbetracht des großen Aufstandes, den die Frauen gegen den obligatorischen Hidschab und das systemische Patriarchat gestartet haben, ist die Durchführung dieses Festivals sinnlos, solange es nicht möglich ist, Filme ohne obligatorischen Hidschab und mit freier Meinungsäußerung im Iran zu produzieren. Denn trotz des vergossenen Blutes iranischer Frauen, Jugendlicher und ethnischer Gruppen hat die Durchführung eines Festivals für das iranische Kino keine Bedeutung. Wir hoffen auf den Tag, an dem das Leben in einem freien Iran für die gesamte iranische Bevölkerung möglich sein wird.
Bislang wurden mehr als tausend Filme für das Festival eingereicht. Wir sind allen FilmemacherInnen dankbar, die ihre Filme zum Festival geschickt haben, und hoffen, dass wir sie in einer anderen Situationen unterstützen können, um ihre Werke, die sich mit den Menschenrechten und den Rechten der Frauen im Iran befassen, zu verbreiten und ihre Stimme zu sein. Mit der Hoffnung auf die Verwirklichung von „Frau, Leben, Freiheit“ im Iran.
زن زندگی آزادی!
جشنواره فیلمهای ایرانی وین حمایت خود را از جنبش زن زندگی آزادی در ایران اعلام می کند. تیم برگزاری جشنواره در راستای اعلام همبستگی خود با جنبش انقلابی زنان ایران و مبارزه دموکراسی خواهانه مردم ایران علیه نظام دیکتاتوری دینی از برگزاری این جشنواره انصراف می دهد، با توجه به قیام بزرگی که زنان علیه حجاب اجباری و مردسالاری سیستماتیک به راه انداخته اند، تا زمانی که امکان تولید و فیلمبرداری بدون حجاب اجباری و با آزادی بیان در ایران وجود نداشته باشد، برگزاری این جشنواره بی فایده است. چرا که با وجود خونهای ریخته شده زنان، جوانان و قومیتهای ایرانی، برگزاری جشن برای سینمای ایران معنایی ندارد. به امید روزی که زندگی در ایران آزاد برای همه ایرانیان فراهم شود. تاکنون بیش از هزار فیلم به دفتر جشنواره ارسال شده است. ما از تمام فیلمسازانی که فیلمهای خود را برای جشنواره ارسال کرده اند سپاسگزاریم و امیدواریم در موقعیتهای دیگر بتوانیم به پخش آثاری که به حقوق بشر و حقوق زنان در ایران می پردازند کمک کنیم. به امید تحقق „زن زندگی آزادی“ در ایران.
GOAL: „INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE WITH AN EMPHASIS ON DIVERSITY“
The IFFVienna was founded to promote art, culture, film and especially international cultural exchange. The non-profit Intercultural Film Forum Vienna has the aim to promote the engagement and diversity in art, culture and film. The association offers support for film projects throughout the year and organizes Festivals, workshops, seminars, film screenings and exchange with other cultures and countries. To achieve one of this goal, the Iranian film festival Vienna will be held annually from 2023 to make a platform to exchange between Iranian cinema culture & Austrian cinema culture.

****OFFICIAL COMPETITION****
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1.FORMATS: All (except the vertical formats)
IFFV accepts No VERTICAL format.
2.GENRE: only fiction films
Non-commercial fiction shorts and feature films are accepted.
*No music videos. No documentary. No animation.
3.PRODUCTION COUNTRY: Iran
Submissions should be from Iran or been made by an Iranian director/producer
4.RUNNING TIME:
Feature film between 70 to 140 minute
Short film Under 40 minutes.
*Running time including end credits should be under 40 minutes.
5.YEAR OF PRODUCTION: after 2020
The film must have been produced after January 1, 2020. The festival committee will determine the production date of your film based on the copyright year listed in the end credits.
6. PREMIERE: Not screened on Internet, Not broadcasted on TV
Films that have screened on the internet or shown theatrically or been broadcast on television in Vienna prior to the Festival or are available on DVD or VOD are not eligible for competition.
*It is mandatory for films to have their Viennese premiere at the Iranian Film Festival Vienna.
*By submitting your film in each category, you agree that your film will automatically be considered for the online festival as well.
7.ENGLISH SUBTITLE: Required
English & German subtitles are required
8. MULTIPLE ENTRY: Possible.
You may submit multiple entries but must fill out a separate entry form for each.
9. COMPETITION
The festival presents films in two competition sections as well as in Special Programs. The film can be submitted to one of the following competitions.

Short film
10.SCREENING COPIES
1. Accepted formats: DCP, 35mm
2. A backup digital file must be submitted along with the screening copy.
3. The screening copy must arrive at the festival office.
4.The selected filmmakers are not awarded financial compensation for participating in the competition.
11.ADDITIONAL MATERIAL
In addition to a screener file you are asked to at least submit the following*
1. At least one film still (300 dpi)
2. Poster of the film
3. A Trailer up to one minute in this format: MP4 HD 1920 1080
4. Director’s filmography
5. 100 words description of the film
5. A list of previous screenings of the submitted film, including awards
6. Main credits
7. Information about previous screenings international and in Austria
*film still, trailer, poster, and the info you send may be used on our Website and social media, to promote the festival and your films.
12. DISPATCH AND SHIPPING OF SCREENING COPIES
Please note: Preview copies will not be returned, but stored in the Iranian Film Festival Vienna archive.
